- Representation for the member or eligible dependent and other individuals specified in the Legal Plan in applications for citizenship, relative petitions, adjustment of status, green card, asylum, TPS and deportation.

- Child custody and visitation, child support or maintenance, where you are a parent involved in child neglect or abuse proceedings, foster care, paternity, the removal of names from the applicable state registry(s) for child abuse, domestic violence, orders of protection,
adoption and guardianship (where there are no assets from personal injury case).
Juvenile Delinquency
- Representation of minor child.

- Divorce, separation or annulment matters, as well as support,
child custody and visitation rights, and the division of marital property at the
time of your divorce.
Prenuptial Agreements
- Agreement to define property interests before marriage.

Appeals
- A Fund lawyer will represent you in an Appeal from a Final Judgment or an
Order in an action in which you are the responding party.
Administrative Agency Matters
- Advice and counsel on securing your rights and benefit entitlements from
government agencies (i.e., Social Security Administration, school suspensions,
hearings involving claims for special educational funds, etc.)
Bankruptcy
- Representation in the preparation of Voluntary Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions.
Estate Matters
- Consultation regarding small estates in cases where the member,
spouse, or other eligible family member has died.
Consultations
- Advice and consultation and review of legal documents.
Name Changes
- Court proceeding for member or eligible dependents.
Wills and Related Documents
- Will preparation or review and update of an existing will,
power of attorney or health care proxy.
Real Estate Transactions
- Representation for the purchase, sale, or refinance of your
primary residence (provided you do not own other property).
Criminal
- Violations, misdemeanors and/or felonies for which the maximum sentence is 7 years or less, either in a New York State Criminal Court, the criminal court of the state of your primary residence (if not New York), or federal court. In New York, only felonies covered are Class “D” and “E” felonies, as defined by the New York Penal Law.
